quazer,
Does your Patrol have central locking(it sounds like you have), if the driver's door isn't locking then I would say it would be an issue with the actuator.
It might pay to take the door trim off and have a look at whats going on could be just a loose wire or a connecting rod has come off.

Welcome to the forum mate. But you might want to head over to the introductions thread and say gidday. This would be nice before jumping in and asking questions.

When you say the key will lock all the doors except the drivers door do you mean the actual key that you stick in the door lock barrel and twist or the remote button?

If it is a GQ it will not have a factory door lock actuator in the RHF door.

It's a 1998 GU.

Hey mate if the key goes in and turns and locks all the other doors and dosen't to your drivers door then the lock needs replacing. It is either worn out or has been tampered with.

Sorry, I have taken the OP the wrong way.
I read it as he wasn't sure if it was a GU and I thought 98 was the change over year from GQ-GU.

That's the trouble with not putting any punctuation in and writing the whole thing as one sentence, is it;
a) "I have a Nissan patrol 98 gu i think, for some reason......."
or
b) "I have a Nissan patrol 98 gu, i think for some reason......."
