Well as you know, I deserted the patrols for an f250 some years ago but returned to the fold last year when I bought a GU 3 in silver pewter, it has a ufi 12mm boost compensated pump, 18g turbo and cross country intercooler , 4” pipe snorkel and 3” exhaust, well looked after by the previous owner.84951

After a trip to Victoria when I never manage to catch up with anyone due to the virus and work I returned home to Perth, I fitted a new set of rims and tyres when finance allowed.

84953Today I fitted the mcc rear twin wheel carrier albeit I only had time to do one wheel arm and will do the other tomorrow, I left the wheel spacer on as it has a light bracket I can use later, the lights will be wired soon as well.

Took him in and had the tail lights in the rear bar connected with Deutsche plugs for easy removal and replacement if needed and a wire for future use for number plate light, I’ve ordered some motorcycle light bolts same as I had on the other patrol. Also dropped the new second battery in, hopefully late more than one day now 😊

Today was take the patrol in to adjust the preload on the swivel hub bearings and check the front end for the annoying vibration at 90/95 kph, hopefully it’s been sorted.

Let us know how you get on. Mine has that annoying wobble at that speed too

Ash said can only be preload on bearings or the pan hard bushes or tie road ends, checked everything in the way of bushes so the preload was way off so hopefully that’s sorted it but I’ll let you know

growler Mate after the preload done it’s taken 98% of the wobble out, just fitted a black widow twin false floor I picked up for $200, fitted a couple of nutserts to bolt the top floor to the drawers so I don’t have to pull the drawers out if I need to remove them

Well I managed to score a brand new darche 270 awning for $800, the guy bought it for a dual cab ute with a rack in the back but when he tried to fit it the passenger doors wouldn’t open because the rack sits level with the cab 😊 stoked

Eclipse is the 270, Kosinski is 180, just finished putting it on, I think I need to get a bracket for the very back corner, pretty happy with the way it sits, easy enough to install with two people.

Nice mate. They have a Kozi 270 which looks to be a light duty version. I got the same as you, but not at that steal of a price. Good score. Paid $1099 with shipping. I haven't put mine on yet. Not sure how Im gonna go mounting it myself. It ain't real light.

Yes it’s a pain but I had to refit it as I bought another bracket at the very back for more support and I had to lift it to the top holes, I measured the distance between the holes and set the bolts at the correct distance and sat it on the top of my ladder and manoeuvred it so I got the top bolts into position and slipped a nut on to hold it then lined it all up and presto.

Been a bit lax of late, installed the pollen filters in the aircon, 5 minute job really. Next is a drawer fridge to bolt to the false floor on the passenger side rear, just looking at a 30ltr Engel just for drinks and ease of not having to open the swing away wheel carriers and then open the doors to get to the fridge.

Ok fitted new 7” led lights today as the 9” ones were too big , slotted a mount on the bullbar and refitted the cb arial and fitted a flip up number plate mount and fitted 2 bash plates to help protect the radiator and steering arms, just need to rivet the number plate on tomorrow as I ran out of time.

Got the patrol back from panel shop, repainted the bullbar after writing off the Volvo, had a couple of marks on it so I thought why not. Also swapped the fridge slide to the passenger side as I prefer it there, what a mission 5 hrs 🤷*♂️ Also fitted a pump for the water bladder and have a solar and 3rd battery I picked up to fit as well as a dometic 30 LTR drawer fridge to fit between the shelves in the backseat, gotta try to get it done as heading away early next month to broke inlet to windy harbour and marlamup beach for 5 day trip.

Fabricated a mesh shield for the rear of the drawer fridge so the compressor doesn’t get damaged by items in the back.

No sorry we just measured up and cut the corners out that wouldn’t be used and used the bench to bend the mesh to suit and then bolted it all to the fridge existing holes and it’s quite sturdy.

Got a sock made to go over the darche 270 awning to help protect it on bush tracks and bought a ARB inflator/deflator, pretty good gear, not fast but it’s accurate. I have also taken the both awesome black widow wheel bags into get the Velcro replaced after the sun it deteriorated.

86011Maxtrax brackets and tie down lugs, I think that should be it for now but maybe a couple of Jerry holders as it’s cheaper than a lr tank.

Well I have used the last week that I was back in Perth to get a few things sorted whilst I was away, thanks to Neil from Greenslade engineering in Kadina for the great job. Move the snorkel to over the roof, sort the Jerry can rack so they lay down instead of standing up and fit the new runva winch.863868638786388
