Hi,

My 2002 GU Patrol 3.0 Di used to start fine first time but today it just decided not to whatsoever.
There's enough diesel, new battery... Just cranks, turns over but won't start. I primed the fuel filter pump, diesel flows when I removed the feed pipe. But no chance.
Checked the fuses all ok, changed the fuel filter housing (genuine Nissan) and filter and glow plugs a year ago. Was starting fine every time. I'm quite lost...
Can you please help me? Cheers

Was there any work done to the engine, or fuel system prior?

Hi, no there wasn't, just attempted to start as usual.

Hi guys,

Problem solved so far. Used one second shot of easy start spray (Start Pilot) and it fired straight away.

Strange. Being an electronic IP I was thinking toward a fubar’d pump. Tis what happened to my old ZD.

TBH I'm the first one to be surprised but what a relief when it starts. From now on I will carry a can of that magic spray, just in case.

Its great that you got it going, but I am stumped on why it wouldn't start in the first place. Maybe check your glow plugs to see if they are working as they should.

I've seen this happen before and it is nearly always glow plugs.

Problem solved! The guilty guy was the blue 100 AMP fuse connector, located in the fuse box near the battery. The fuse is bolted and it was hard to get it out. Connected a solid copper wire to test if it will start and bingo! Just ordered 2 of those for 20 euros!

Great Result! Well done. Was it the fuse to the glow plug circuit?

Thanks mate! Yep it was! What a relief! Local garage said "oh, we need to do a compression test, check the injectors, fuel pump..."
