torque setting help???

hi all, tomorrow i want to just check the torque settings on the drive pinion nut on my 89gq lsd wagon, it says
196-284nm, im confused do i set my torque wrench at 196 or 284 or what???

They give a minimum & maximum torque setting & its always safe to go half way in between the two.
