I have a 99 gu RD28

I was driving home from work and seen the engine light came on an was at the first hot line so pulled over straight away to let it cool down as I pulled over it was steaming out the overflow bottle

Once it cooled down to under running temp I limped it to the service centre to get coolent as I didn’t have any on me
As norm I always fill my coolent up with the car running after driving so I don’t stuff the head an as it was running I noticed water coming out the bottom hole on the water pump so going to replace that now with a new thermostat
To be safe I pulled out the thermostat to test that in the stove in cold water to boiling temp an it opened an closed like it should but it’s building up way to much pressure in the system to the point I can’t push in the top hose but can a little bit on the bottom

Car still runs an idles perfect but once I take the rad cap off it’s got heaps of pressure an wanting to chuck water out not bubbling like a cracked head or gasket there no milky stuff on the dip stick or oil cap so it kinda has be puzzled
I’ve noticed there’s a slight crack on the top over flow bottle

Any advice would be awesome as it’s the only car I have an need it for work

Not too familiar Adam Mate with the 2.8L Legendary Donk but sounds like your water pump needs replacement with water symptoms shooting out mentioned below the relief seal thingymebob like 4.2s similar can do too?
