Hi there
Thought I'd introduce myself.
I owned 2 GU Patrols 02 and 06 models in the distant past, both 4.8's.
I was in the market for a cheap Pajero or similar smaller 4wd for beach work and somehow just bought myself an old 2001 4.8L solely due to a price I couldn't say no to.
Previous owner (a cousin of my partner) owned it and has been trying to fix a random electrical issue with it for a couple of years where it misfires at idle and eventually stalls.
Sounds to me like she was taken around the garden path by her Mechanic! After spending over $5k replacing ECU, immobiliser, Cam angle sensor, maf, exhaust, fuel system etc etc etc (I have all the receipts!) She eventual gave up on it and offered it to me very cheap.
I've hooked it up to scan tool and when the issue arrises it's showing O2 sensor errors.
I'll replace both (about the only sensors on the entire vehicle her mechanic didn't replace!) and hope that resolves the issue.
If not I may be humbly asking for some expert advice on here.
