I live in the Ballarat area and have had a couple of GQ's I took a ripper round Australia for 27,000 km and it did not miss a beat other than popping a radiator hose coming into Port Augusta. It was mid to high 40s though.
My son has just bought a 1992 GQ in really good nick, that has a half finished diesel conversion.
Most of the mechanical are done, and it is not too bad. We have a fair bit of electrical conversion to do as the previous owner did not bother to take the engine bay loom of the donor diesel car which was a bit dumb.
Looking forward to reading the posts of the combined brains trust here. I am betting many of you guys have already done a similar conversion.
