Ticking noise from engine

Hi guys! I have a Patrol 3.0 from 2007. A strange ticking sound has just begun, the car is at the Nissan shop right now. An airbag needed to be replaced by Nissan, and they advice me to not use the car before its been checked. The mechanics don't know what it is, thinking maybe the timing chain issues? I'm thinking the vents? Aaand they cannot check it the next 30 days.... Full calender :/

A simple thing to check is that the exhaust manifold gasket is not leaking.

Could be the lifter or a bad belt.
