Intro - New Member

Hi There,

I've just bought a 1989 TD42 GQ Patrol. My son and I are fixing it up for his first car when he gets his licence in about 12 months time.

My brother has a GQ with an RB30 and it goes quite well off road so I'm hoping a good choice for the young fella.

To be honest, this is the first Nissan that I've had much to do with. I've mainly played with Landcruisers and old Holdens over the years so I'm guessing a fairly steep learning curve ahead.

Anyway it will be great to meet everyone along the way during this new journey

Thanks very much for the welcome, downloaded some manuals already so have some light reading ahead.

You have a great site here, with a wealth of knowledge and information. Very happy to have stumbled upon it.

First thing I'll be chasing is a new gearbox or rebuild the old one. I guess I'll know which way to once it's out on the deck.
