I am looking to upgrade my Dyneema/SK75 rope on both the front and rear winches to 12mm for a little bit more safety margin. Currently running 10mm and get 30m of rope with the drum being as full as you would want. I see there are 25m x 12mm ropes and 30m x 12mm ropes on sale - from the Dyneema Shop, just dont want to waste/pay for 5m that will end up on the floor x 2.

I know MB is a big fan of the Whitlams Brand, just unsure if these above are genuine or the Whitlams brand is the deal and certified load rating. $ are not the focus, just not wasting the $ by buying the wrong length is more the issue.

There is also another brand called Spydura which is highly rated. 10mm Dyneema - genuine has a breaking strain of close to 24000lb, the Spydura a touch higher.

To make a Soft shackle out of 12mm you need nearlly 3m...... just saying!!

Or... 30m cut 10m off and add a loop to each end for a 10m winch extension. Winner

My personal findings are these lineal metres are possibly overstated by up to 50% practical out there.
My front HM +76mm reduced center (unlisted above) hassle free usability wise prefers only 35LM of 11mm [emoji106][emoji106]

Yeah I reckon I have 30m of 12mm on my +76 himount. That is Plenty. A 20m second length of rope os on hand if needed as an extension.

Thanks guys, the number seems to be a capacity of around 25m certain, then from there its a guess. I will buy the two 30m lengths and trim what won't fit off, then decide what I do with it. I already have 4 soft shackles, so maybe a couple of shorter extension ropes would be good also. Interesting my 15000lb low mounts are not listed either, but I guess its a guide.

Unfortunately you’re guided buy low mount supporting rods hindering greater volumes/off center winding as I too are about to experience on the rear mount lowering Sherpa Philstar.
Less is so much more in reality as some 30Lm of 10mm on our family truckster 9,000lb front weak Warn is truly a pain in the arse housekeeping without abrasive burning off angle hauling :-(

I have installed offset tiebars for the case of off-line retrieval bundling, so have another 30mm of clearance, so if you use my rope deflector assy you should be ok to spool evenly.
