Having not done this trip I assume that some of the “low km” days are still a full days driving? Haha

It was a bloody mission mate, I remember just sitting on shitty sticky vinyl seats looking out the window the whole time with dads seat shoved down my throat!!!

Good times looking back now but I remember it was full on as a kid!

I always remember you made a km or so down the track and another convoy stumbled upon you without seeing our convoy.

Can you imagine their eyes when they saw a teenager walking alone in the Simpson desert with not a soul in sight!

Please tell me you remember our Legendary game of VFL at Dalhousie (main pond) which we had to quickly convert to NRL when flooded in for two days because we couldn’t lift our 10kg little weak feet for a kick through the sticks :-)

I remember driving around Dalhousie trying to find the spring to camp which you can’t do now.

I remember us kids going on foot for kms in the desert to find our own spring to play around in kms away from our parents gone for the whole day and no one cared.

That was the time to visit the Simpson!!!

Was somewhat sad for us Littlens and decent Elders too on that final family crossing without visiting raised Witjira Oases like years before but understandably fenced off miles and miles back these days since then :-(

Pretty sure youngen both you and I on foot together, and the truly feral bushman awesome ‘Green’ family kids made it miles out to the original campsite only to find a Bullrush plant of sorts had engulfed the entire old Oasis. Being a teenager myself then I was secretively looking forward to having my scrote tickled from underwater Galaxias of old once known but we all only scored nothing more than mild swampy Outback Mozzie Malaria :-)

Bahaha lucky I can translate most of that. I remember hearing many of these stories around the traps.

Damn lucky to be out there when it was like that. Even the remote spots we have ended up in northern nsw there is traffic now days.

Biggest trip I have done was with Sean and left VIC headed to Narromine for work. Stayed the night best Parkes I think it was. Got to Narromine & job took about 6 hours to do haha. Then jump in the car and head to Tamworth. That's where I picked up the roof top wicked tent. Stayed the night there up early to head to our west of Bourke for 2 days of hunting then drove home in straight stint I back to central Vic. Think that was Sunday through to Saturday. So places I'd love to revisit with time. So eye opening places along that top edge of NSW that's for sure.

We should try do Simpson again. I'm slowing I missed the first one
