Do not bid or buy this Patrol that is advertised on Ebay, it is a scam.

"I'll sell it at the starting price for fast cash sale .Call : 0390159819" the starting price was $12,500.00 Anyone offering a 2004 GU ute at that price....they are either really desperate for quick cash or its a scam . I would agree with AB that its a scam

Yeah sorry I should have elaborated on that one...lol

It started off as $12,500. In his description he mentions he wants a fast cash sale and will take the $12,500. Thats your first warning as that is just insanely cheap!

I told my friend as soon as it hit the market and he rung the number atleast 20 times and it has the same message bank with a very hard to understand person's message....Can't remember what it said but it was dodgy.

Anyways It's a been a week already and he gets an SMS from the seller saying "hi, please visit my website for more details about the vehicle"....Not sure what the website was but it was also a dodgy site.

I cannot be 100% sure but I am 99.999999999999999999999999999999999999999999% sure this is what's going to happen.

The bidding will end. The seller will then sms my friend saying "hey, the guy didnt buy the car do you still want it for $12,500".....Buyer says, yeah I sure do!

Ok, well I'm in hosptial at the moment or I'm overseas looking after granny but if you can pay a deposit of $500 I will get the Patrol delivered to your house and then if you like it you can take it and pay the remaining sum.

Great!!!!

Pay the deposit....No car turns up and deposit is gone!

I have had this approach many of times with excavators and machinery with the exact same ad style and same kind of phone number and procedure.

Again I can't be 100% but I am 99.99999999999999999% sure and would bet money that this is a scam.

And of acourse this guy has 200 messages from people wanting to buy an insanely cheap GU!

$500 a pop adds up!!!

And a brand new Ebay user is not so dodgy but a warning and the icing on the cupcake for this scam...lol

4-Wheel Drive, Alarm, Alloy Wheels (Only see steel rims hmmmmm) , CD Player, Cruise Control (can't see any, is it hiding?), Power-assisted Steering (PAS), Power Locks, Power Seats (now have a close look at the pics. You can see the seat adjustment handle), Power Windows, Rear Spoiler (it's now a sports car) , Tilt Steering Wheel, Tow Bar


Anti-Lock Brakes, Back Seat Safety Belts (can you please point out where the back seats would be), Driver Airbag, Immobiliser, Passenger Airbag, Safety Belt Pretensioners

Somebody might know somebody that could do a check on the plate. Not that I'd endorse anything like that of course.

The basic Vicroads check did check out to that vehicle but that doesnt really help much anyway!

My truck is not 5 star rated. lol It'd be lucky to rate 1 star. No ABS, no seatbelt warnings, no air bags and no dash dimmer switch (lol).

It's got all the creature comforts I need. Vinyl floor, manual window controller, cd player, radio and heater. I'm so easy to please. LOL
