Hi all.I am a new member and thanks for the welcome.I bought my MQ through gumtree,it is diesel,2seater,sunraysia wheels and has an alloy tray.It was for sale for $500.I thought that was a pretty good price and spoke to she who must be obeyed and promptly got roused on.I grumbled, mumbled said bloody females (to myself) and kept looking.I saw it on there a week later, price dropped to $200.Bit the bullet and said I am buying it.Suprise, suprise she agreed.I should add it was advertised as mechanically good -rusty.they were'nt wrong.I took battereries with me when I picked it up and it fired up ok so brought it home.I thought I would start with the rust from the roof down (holes everywhere in the roof) so stripped the inside of the cab and found $40 in change in the ash tray so turns out I got it for $160.Definitely get my money back if I sell it.So far it is still an unfinished project I have got about 95% of the rust done,am buying new batteries and radiator this week so I can at least fire it up and give it an oil change .Paint is a few weeks away then tyres and rego (money permitting)I dont have any problems with money ,just a problem with a lack of it.
Anyway,I do have a problem. The cab heater has been disconnected .I am assuming because it leaked The problem is how to get the heater core out .I thought first off that the whole heater box came out ,now I am wondering if access is through the blower fan.Anyone got any ideas?
thanks.

Heater core, rip the heater box out
You can take the blower fan out as well ,but im sure the core wont come out threw the hole
The heater core has 2 pipes in the engine bay as well, coming out the firewall
Most of the heater boxes here still have the cores in them, when removed
As for the heater disconnected,
Check fuses, wires, heater control levers ect

I should have been more specific when I said the heater had been disconnected. The hoses from the head to the firewall are not in place .It's the thing that makes me believe that the core was leaking,so what I have to do (from what MQ mad said) is to take the heater box out to get at the core and thats where I am having trouble.I have taken every thing out that might hold it in and it is loose but I cant get it out.I have left the heater controls on ,I think they come out with the heater box although I have taken the plastic panel off wher the control levers are.any thoughts out there?
