Hello everyone. I am new to patrols and stumbled across this site. I come from the Suzuki world of 4x4’s but do own and Nissan Xterra in Dubai. Came back to Adelaide for a vacation to see the family and due to covid ended up a bit longer than expected. The wife is expecting so we will stay for a few more months minimum. I have had on the wish list for a while a TB48 auto patrol due to the gearing advantages and off-road ability and while looking for cheap 4x4’s for the stay stumbled on a pretty good deal on one outside the original budget but decided it’s a lot more vehicle for the coin compared with what I was looking at so snapped it up.

Loving the big rig so far. It’s got a bit of a miss at idle (might do a post at a later date) that needs sorting but under load and generally to drive she’s a dream.

Welcome to the forum. The miss at idle could possibly a vacuum leak. Check to see if all the vacuum hoses are on and in good condition.

I am thinking it is a vacuum leak, just have to find it. The vac tube that goes from the intake butterfly chamber separation valve thingy and to the solenoid was completely split, I replaced that when I did the spark plugs, but didn’t fix it. There are a few vacuum lines and chambers to follow though. Will slowly get through it.

I have noticed it’s worse when cold also.

It’s LPG and petrol and the miss is on both fuels.

Post the problem on a dedicated thread and you might get a better response.
