Hi all
I've got this kind of a jingle sound near my alternator area. Today I unmounted the belt and started the engine to see if its still there or gone, but its still there. As far as I can say its not related with the engine speed. I'm not able to locate it and really wonder what it could be. Anybody's having an idea? Would really appreciate it.
I've attached 2 videos. Its hard to record it but you should be able to hear it.

My ZD was doing it also. It was the air con compressor. The front bearing was worn out.
Easy fix

Thanks for quick response:D Interesting that you experienced the same sound. I was also thinking about alternator or air con compressor pulley first. The thing is I unmounted the belt already and I could still hear that jingle sound when running the motor with no belt on. So with no belt on, the air con bearing was not able to move, in other words it cant be the air con compressor bearing, or am I wrong in some point?

Sounds like an exhaust leak to me. Maybe its just the crappy speaker on my work pc though...

Interesting, I hope you're right and its not coming from the motor itself, will definitely check the exhaust area. In case someone experienced the same or similiar sound on the patrol, Im thankful for each hint I can get

Its fairly common for these motors, get a bright light and check around the exhaust side of the turbo to the exhaust manifold for soot. Also the EGR tube and the dump pipe from the turbo.

yeh my money is on a leaking exhaust manifold (could also be egr pipe), when you rev it does the nose change at all?

Okay will definitely check that area the next days. Thank you. But would it also make that kind of a jingle sound?

No, I would say it stays the same then, not getting louder.

sounds like metal tapping metal, put pressure on things and see if the noise goes away when you apply pressure.
