Hi All,

I have a question regarding a small leak I have from my fuel pump, the leak appears to be coming from a small diamond shaped plate on the battery side of the pump(according to the manual it's the cover for the speed timer assembly).

Has anyone had a leak from this part of the pump before and is it very hard to rectify it looks like it just needs a new O-ring. What can I expect to find if I remove this cover to replace said O-ring, will bits come flying out.

Any thoughts appreciated

Mark

Hi All,

Just a quick follow up to the previous post, finally summoned up the courage to tackle this job myself, walked out to the shed at 8:30 am removed the battery in the truck, undid the two bolts that hold the cover on for the speed timer assembly, replaced the very flat O-ring with a nice plump 1" Diameter O-ring, replaced the cover, put the battery back in and walked back inside after running the truck for 10 mins to check for leaks at 9:00 am.

This is a very simple job to do with a limited amount of mechanical knowledge, not scary like I thought it might be(I hate taking covers off things that are vital to the truck running).

I just thought I would put this up for reference for anyone who may encounter the same problem.
