Hi guys. Just going through the process of putting a turbo on my 94 Blacktop. It's running and inline diesel pump which is making things a little more difficult than normal. Just want to know if anyone on here has

1- turbod their inline pumped engine and if they could share what they had to do,

2- removed the butterfly and rigged up a way of controlling the pump directly from the throttle cable?

Any information here form someone that has done it would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

Had a good read up today and looks like option 2 is out of the question.

Anyone had any experience with option 1??

Not sure if you will get any help as the TD's here in OZ are of the rotary type... Inline pumps were on the imported models, which are rare as rocking horse shite around here.

Cheers mudski. Yeah I know it's a long shot but have read a few old threads where guys have done it. Was hoping I'd get lucky. If nothing comes from it I guess I'll just change to a rotary pump.

A friend of mine has done it here on a couple Patrols. I'm not sure of the details of his builds though. From what he's told me, the power doesn't seem to be linear, but it seems satisfactory enough. I don't think he did anything special to the pump, but I'll give him a shout.

Don't know if this is any help for you but the older sd33 and sd33t both have inline pumps and the sd33 has the butterfly in the inlet but the sd33t has the throttle going straight to the pump,it has a boost compensator built in too.
I wonder if the sd33t pump could be used on your td42?
I have no idea if it would work but may be worth looking into.
Good luck with it mate
