Hello fellow Patrol fans. We have a 1991 4.2 petrol Patrol. It's a bit of a rough old clunker, but my P Plater son loves driving it and tinkering with it. We joined the forum mainly for sharing information, which we will probably need heaps of in the future.

Hello Porky, I am a newbie as well. I have a 1990 SWB petrol patrol that was bought new as a business vehicle selling Detriot Lockers. I took it off the road years ago but kept it with the idea of one day putting it back. That one day has arrived and I joined for the mutual help, conversations and the manual that is offered. Tinkering is great fun and teaches as much about oneself as it does about the mechanics. I had lifted mine, with major help from many who bought the locker and became friends, around 6 inches. This went in several steps and the modifications are huge. The last one was after I left the company and major tracks were closed or closing, fines were 10k and the vehicle taken as bond and I made the call for the lift to be more show than go. It feels a little high for serious side slope work, though very stable all round. It has more or less 4 inches up and the same down in travel and wheel aligns within 1/2-3/4 of a degree to std specs the last time it was done way back. The project is interesting as last registration was December 2004. Smiling thinking of your son and his 'old cluncker'. The love will be real and I love reading that you encourage it. All the best and maybe we catch up again through here.
