Large LSD hub in diff

Hi all
Well i have picked up the diffs with the 4.3 ratio and found out that the front is the same but the rear has a very large LSD center in it compared to the 2.8 LSD which i am replacing.
The center in the 2.8 rear is almost a joke for an LSD compared to the one i have swapped for naturally i was worried but when i put a tape measure over anything i could measure it all seems to be ok.
Then im told that the LSD is out of a 3.0 GU.........am i in trouble ?
The only difference i can find is that the center is a much more complex LSD clutch and the plate where the crown wheel gear bolts on looks thicker and machined instead of cast ......but it all seems to measure up !............................oh the flange on the back diffs are the same only the front is different.

That sounds like the car the diffs came out of may have had a manual gearbox and the rear diff is the bigger H260b. Is the entire rear diff centre bigger than the front or just the LSD carrier part inside the crown wheel?

To upload photo's directly from your computer click on "reply" then "go advanced". Click on the paper clip icon which will open the attachment manager and let you browse your computer for images. You will probably need to resize you photo's down (640x480 is a good size) as there is a limit on image size.

It seems like the only difference is the center everything else seems the same is that possible ??

Yes it is possible, you may be off the hook. GQ H233b LSD is much bigger and stronger than the GU H233b LSD. Will be good if you can get side by side photo's of the 2 for future reference.

this may sound stupid but i dont have a paper clip icon next to the smiley face and i tried to send photos a different way but it didnt work so all i can do is email them.
the insert picture symbol only asks for a htty// whatever thing so i dont know.
Its ok ill just try to push it in the hole and if it fits then im lucky.

After you select "reply" or "reply with quote", next 2 the "post quick reply" you will see "go advanced", select that and it will bring up the paper clip next 2 the smiley face :)

Well like i said i shit myself when i saw it compared to the 2.8 LSD, Thanks for your help.
I would not have taken it but it all seamed to measure up so i took a chance. guess that makes me lucky.
