Have you used a glind. I had one once & found the process of running the motor whilst showering & mucking around with heater controls a bit of a pain. What I have now may or may not suit you. Water is heated in the same way as the glind heats it, but does so in a larger insulated vessel. We arrive at camp with 22 litres of water at engine coolant temp, & a tempering valve adds cold water as we use it set to the temperature we want, which makes the 22 litres go much further. 20 to 30 minutes drive is sufficient to bring cold water up to good shower temp. However we cant keep the hot water going indefinitely as you can with the Glind or Joolca (if you have the water supply), but what we do have is a user settable very stable temperature. Depending upon ambient temps, the water remains hot enough to shower with for two to 3 days.
