Hi,
Just recently purchased a 2001 DX Wagon 4.2TD and wanting to upgrade the exhaust. Done considerable research into 3 inch systems, but still undecided. Obvious question but, are the more expensive systems actually worth it? Looked at Taipan & Beaudesert and was wondering if anyone has experience with these systems? From what I've been reading, straight through systems increase HP but compromise torque, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Not really interested in decibel increases (sports sound), more interested in overall performance.
Cheers,
AJ

Sorry can’t comment on your question. But for you information I had a Redback 3” exhaust system put on my ‘05 4.2TD Nissan Patrol Wagon about 18 months ago. Have not had a problem with it. Cost from memory was about $700 (I think)
Hope this helps

Cheers mate. One guy I spoke with did mention those, and yes they do sound like they're a good thing. I dunno but maybe I could have read too much & got myself in a kind if information overload.......

Mate I think for the average Joe you won't see much of a difference between systems of the same design. I think more money would mostly mean higher quality of build/made in Australia rather than off shore.
Look for something in your budget range and you'll be happy as houses.
