Hi all,

Just bought myself a ‘92 GQ Ti (was warned the windows were ‘ a bit dicky’ when I got it. I wound the driver side window down on the way home and it’s stuck now, won’t go up or down and just clicks and I can hear the motor running.

I’ve also discovered that none of the other windows work, doesn’t matter if the child lock is on or off.

I’ve scoured the threads and seen that the windows can be a PITA, just can’t find anything similar. I’m as useless as an ashtray on a motorcycle when it comes to car electrics so any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance

There are many threads regarding these problems and the window module is often the culprit. If you type: window module , into the search box it will show you a few specific threads.

It sounds as if something has come adrift in the drivers door. It is fairly easy to take the door card off to get access.

If it’s anything like my GQ it will be the regulator most likely. I’m about to replace my third window as they have all got stuck down bar one over the last 4yrs. All the motors and switches were fine, was always the regulator shafts the motor connects to that were broken. Left rear window just cost me $50 for an aftermarket regulator posted. The genuine Nissan reg is $190 🤨Takes about half hour to replace. My window is currently held up with a stick hahaha. I’d post pics but don’t know how mate.

Yeah that sounds just like the regulator. I had to replace the drivers window regulator in both my GQs. The aftermarket ones don't seem to last, I went genuine this time.

You're not alone if you're having trouble with your car windows. Many car owners have experienced this problem at one time or another.

Pluck a duck mate thanks for that!

It's a good thing they warned you! That's probably why they sold it, because it was a problem car. I wouldn't buy a defective car. It all depends on the price, though.
