GQ Manual Trans ratios

Just a quick Q about GQ Transmissions

The manual transmission in the GQ, do all transmissions have the same gear ratios for the TB TD and RD?

Just did a big trip and really noticed the Gap from 2-3, 3-4 esp on hills. I did swap transmissions when I first got the truck and not sure where it came from.

Would a TB transmission have different gears ratios as a TD? I thought all the difference was in the Diff ratios.

Don't think they are much different...the differential ratios may be...I think the Rb28 is a 4.6...the TD42 is 4.1 and the TB may be the same...

I use 4.6 diffs with my talker tires so the TD4.2 tows better...

Try using a higher ratio to beef up the pull?

There are different boxes used. I think the RB and RD use basically the same box with a few minor differences.
