Upgrade TB42E to 110Amp Alternator

Hi everyone, as the Title states I'm upgrading the factory Alternator in my 94 TB42E.
I tried a modified EL Alternator on recommendation from a Facebook group and it was dead from the wreckers so I'm buying a brand newwie 110Amp from fleabay.
To the main questions:
Should I renew the plug on the Alternator?
Do I need to go to a higher gage cable to the Battery for charge?
And if yes does it need to be fused?

How’d you go with this? Was the alternator going or was there another reason for the upgrade?

New to the forum and Patrols so just taking a browse through the forum.
