Is there a What are you Watching Now thread???
Started watching Years and Years on SBS. Scares me, it's too real. Trump gets re-elected and just before his 2nd term ends, he nukes a fictitious man made Chinese island. Warnings go off on TV, Radio & phones. The Banks start collapsing .....

TV. Don't get to watch too much of that, but when we do its mainly Netflix. Watched Money Heist, Santa Clarita Diet and Ozark. Free to air its gogglebox when we remember, we did watch Aged Care For 4 Year Olds and struggle street.
I do enjoy watching The Amazing Race..
We watched all of the Fresh Prince of Bel Air. A couple of episodes each night during dinner. Currently it The Big Bang Theory.

If you're up for a bit of subtitle reading, there's a show on SBS called the Bureau. It's based on the French secret service or the French CIA. It's got 5 seasons and I reckon it's one of the best shows I've ever watched. It's fictional but quite realistic.

Yeah that was cool. Tonight's show also had decapitations by both swords achieved in the final round. Nasty nasty weapons! I was going for the bloke who had his forge set up in a 6x4 garden shed vs the bloke with the fully kitted workshop. He was very unlucky to come 2nd imo. I heard one bloke comment as he was eliminated early, on how he and his weren't worthy and his parting words were

"Alone" on SBS Viceland. 10 men dropped on Vancover Island, British Columbia miles apart from each another with only 10 items. Have to catch all their own food. No camera crews, all filmed by the contestants. They have to contend with the weather, Black Bears, Cougers & Wolves. 30 days in so far & only 4 left.
Last one left wins $500,000.

That would have been Season 2. Interesting that 2 of the last 3 left were women after 70 days in the wilds of Patagonia, I`d be lucky to last 7 days!
The one on at the moment is a repeat of Season 1. Will defiantly be watching the next series.

Any of you guys watch ‘Black as’ described as : Go bush with the Black As boys as they venture into the wilds of Arnhem Land, Australia hunting for adventure and a good feed.
Same director as bush mechanics. Push through the first couple of episodes as it gets better as it goes along. For me, its like ‘going north on a northern safari’, great show to explain to new 4wd-ers that you don’t need to pay for thousands of dollars worth of ‘extras’ To enable you to go bush. Also it’s great Aussie humour 👍
Cheers

Watching bugger-all live TV these days, just news. Sick to death of the crap shows and the barrage of ads. I remember back in the VCR days you could count 4 ads in an ad break while fast forwarding. Now you are lucky if there are less than 10. COUNT 'EM! There used to be 25 minutes of content in a half-hour show, 50 in an hour show - not any more. And ads are often repeated in the same ad break.
I now record the rare shows I want to watch so I can skip through the ads. Just my little rebellion, but it works for me.

I had to unfortunately subscribe to Kayo today to watch my football team play a game.
I’m slowly seeing our AFL games get less and less on free to air tv and I have been forced to pay $25 a month to watch football.
That pisses me off beyond belief.
I’m sure there are millions of people struggling to keep their livelihood who are diehard fans of footy and can’t simply sit on their couch and watch their team play.
I know, lol…first world problems but that is disgusting.

Started back into the current season of "Alone', located in South Island NZ. Hard landscape however the thing that strikes me is the people who 'qualify' for the show seem to crumple relatively quickly , not from a survival sense, but a loneliness perspective, cant hack the separation from family, and the ones that go the long haul are able to find that inner strength to shoot for the prize - interesting display of what toughness really is.

In Hindsight, worst English teacher ever had thought at the time in high school. Hairy armpits, stunk like a wombats mange, but now starting to McThink the “read between the lines” off curriculum lessons were ‘Lost’ on many susceptible TV viewers [emoji23][emoji23][emoji3590][emoji3590]

From what I understand, last episode in Tassie when we drove nearby in the wilderness, locals onboard knew how to get a cold brew at a pub within an hour or two’s walking distance [emoji736][emoji736][emoji23]

Bring it on!I have rewatched that show a couple of times. It's just like Top Gear: yes it's all staged and scripted but they make it seem like it's not and it if effing hilarious!

Yeah they do it so well! The first two seasons were sidesplitting so I’m looking forward to the new one. I still crack up when I think about that episode when he didn’t properly counterweight his Lambo and was mono’ing everywhere!! hahaha

Yep. And that older bloke who works for him, the farmer you can't understand. Saw a short clip with him speaking to Clarkson, bloody hilarious.
Apparently the show is more successful than they thought it would be,.

Hey crew. I've lately jumped on the 4wd24/7 YouTube and smashing the off grid videos.
Omg there is so much of this country to explore..
And even my backyard!!! Literally.
So much to do down the leg!

We got rid of all our streaming video services. But we do sub to Youtube. We watch that nearly every night now, once you start looking at different things, YT starts sending you more related stuff. It's pretty good actually, coz you turn it on and you end up watching something you like, not something you hope you like.
Been watching lots of Italian homestead renovations and off grid stuff. Lots of beautiful scenery and good ideas. No one gets murdered, nothing blows up and no women are harmed. So much more relaxing and relatable.

Does YT subscription block out the ads? They are out of control on the free version.

Although I just cancelled our family plan at the start of the year as they put the cost up from $22.99/month to $32.99/month.
Too much of a price hike for me.

Best thing i ever did. No Ads when scrolling YT and comes with YouTube Music application which is my goto. If you watch YT via facebook though you still get the adds and that can be a bit frustrating as you have clicked on something and end up scrolling with ads.

Season 2 of The Diplomat is brilliant.
The News Room. Holy Shit! was fantastic.
If you have not watched 'The Green Book' then you are missing out. Maybe the first time i have ever finished watching a movie and immediately watched it again in the same session.
And 'Hidden Figures' is also Brilliant.

Don’t laugh but I really love The Nanny. A show that takes the piss out of every character. I always laugh my arse off.
OK I’m old school but I don’t care. :harhar:

Watching Paris Has Fallen on SBS. Not bad, not great, worth watching, you don't have to think too much.
Unlike Disclaimer on Apple TV+. Episode 1 was so 'who the hell is that?', 'is he related to her?', if she's her, then he must be his brother?' it became annoying.
