Rear wheel stud replacement

Hey fellas, quick question!
This morning on my way to work I noticed all the wheel nuts were loose on my rear wheel. Managed to bugger the alloy rim and all the studs and nuts.
Have replaced the studs by hand as I don’t have a rattle gun, put the two bolts back into the calliper and noticed that the actual disk has a bit of play in it. Is this normal? Is it just held tight by the wheel nuts once the rim is on?
If anyone could get back to me asap that’d be great.
It’s a GU wagon.

So apparently there was a recall on some models of gu because this was a constant problem, obviously mine never went in for the recall!
Does any one have a permenant solution for the loose wheel nuts?

Not sure DP mate, do know down here we mostly only entrust in steel rims up there in our rocky cracking mountains.
Cold river crossings have been documented to expand/contract non steelie rims too mate!

Mines got paperwork that it's gone through this campaign. It's a 2005 y61.
From memory it was remove and retention 12 nuts and fit indicators ...
Don't quote me on this but it was something to do with the alloy wheel softening up where the nuts go.
From memory some people had had all their rims replaced .

While we are on this, what are the torque settings for tightening wheel nuts?
And would those torque numbers be different for alloy vs steel rims?

My torq is set to 115-120 and never ever had issues coming loose and/or being difficult to undo.

Sent from my iPhone using TapatalkGeckos are a cheap brand of steel wheels but they do the job. I ran them for about 8 years and in that time I bent 2 of them but I reckon just about any rim would have been damaged under the same circumstances.
I am running Dynamic now which aren't a whole lot dearer but you can tell from looking at them that they are a better rim.

Yeah like Winnie, I have the -22 Dynamic rims. Ran he same on my other patrol & the Navara before that, never had an issue.

A third vote for Dynamic brand, haven’t let me down yet either.
I always carry a decent mash hammer out bush too for straightening unfortunate clips on the steelies if needed.

Clean up , and a bit of elbow swing with a mashy , air up and onwards and upwards.
He replaced the rim when home , just in case ...

Can’t say about Dynamic but I’ve only used ROH Trak 2 Steelies. A fair wack dearer than others but you get what you pay for I believe...
