Hi,
Can anyone help supply me with how to test my TPS sensor on top of my VE rotary Diesel pump, on a 1993 GQ Safari (patrol)?
Everything i can find on here is only for a 3 wire plug, on the TB engine, including the manuals only mention the TPS on the TB engine!! FRUSTRATING.
My model TPS has 6 wire plug, on the TD42T AutoTrans engine, and is messing my Autochanges up,obviously needing adjustment.
I have read it needs to read 0.6v at idle, but on which wire?
what do the other wires need to read/do?

Anyone???

The 6 wire TPS is only for the auto trans models. 3 wires are for the TPS and the other 3 are a switch for idle signal and WOT signal.
I currently only use a 3 wire TPS on my pump and the other 3 wires for idle/WOT are from a ZD30 TPS I installed on the accelerator pedal
The colours aren’t always the same but each set of 3 wires should be on the same row in the 6 pin plug.
You need to find the wire that has 5v. The wire next to it should be the signal and the 3rd in the row is an earth.
Idle voltage should be 0.4 - 0.6v in idle position and around 4.5 at full throttle.

Post a pic of your 6 pin plug and I’ll see if it matches the pics I have here.

thanks JFF45, found the signal wire, was sitting at 1.1 v a idle,
Having moved the TPS to full adjustment and can only get it to 0.8 at idle and 3.6 full throttle.
Any other adjustment anywhere other than slottign the holes bigger?

Yes, you have infinite adjustment by loosening the lock nut that positions the flat sided bolt that drives the TPS.
You can see it clearly here..
