According to Red book my 92 Td42 Gq is 3150 kg GVM which would mean that I am in a bit if trouble because my weigh bridge came back as 2.9 tonnes and I am not fully loaded yet

It says what your GVM is on the ID plate. Mines been upgraded to 3050kg and I weigh this with just me and empty tanks. Lol.

G’day Mark, did you mean GU upgraded to 3,500kg mate? Little confused myself family GU wagon stock @3,040kg. Years ago before under the microscope western blokes were upping wagons to 3,500kg with some mods lightly done.

My 2001 GU 4500 Ti had a factory GVM of 2960 kg stamped on the VIN plate. I had it upgraded to 3550 kg last year.
I had to fit specific Toughdog springs & shocks and 2 degree castor correction. Strangely enough, I also had to change the side indicators to cat 6.

The main criteria dictated by the engineer was that the vehicle had to be diesel, didn’t matter that it was a conversion, and had to have ABS which the Ti has from factory.

I was allowed to do all the work myself and the engineer came to my place to inspect and fit the blue plate.
Suspension parts cost $1500 odd and engineer was $650.

It’s the Toughdog 50mm lift but sits at around 80mm unladen. The rear springs are 500 kg rated.
The coil tower braces were not required but I had already fitted the Boss braces anyway.

Nah MB. Mine was originally 2850kg on the GVM. Being a ZD originally. I was upgraded when I removed the rear seats.
