Hello.
Im going over our new (old) ute to check and learn things. To my naive eye everything checks out.
I would however like to wash down engine and the bay.
Apart from the obvious dont point the hose at electrics is there anything i should watch out for.
I understand these td42 are robust and get dipped in mud water and slosh all the time but im willing to learn from your experience whats the best way to just give it a good degrease and hose down witout jeapordizing anything.
There is a intercooler sitting on top. Should i take that off plug the hoses and hose down the rocker cover injector area. Will be hard to reach under otherwise. My neighbour can provide some chemtech shock treatment (ct18 on steroids) he seems to think the motor will come out mirror shiny after that. Thanks ahead.

For what its worth the motor is a td42 ti in a 2006 ute.

PS.
One thing i have learnt is that whoever designed for the 2 filters to be where they are upon oil change should be shot with a blunt bullet and stacked 10 high at the tip.

PSS. I meant that.

Like you said, be careful where you point it and it'll be fine.

I've had the engine light come on before after a particularly rough water/mud crossing but it went away eventually with no I'll effects to date..
