Well over the last to Arvos of warm weather n sun shine i was able to finally put smurf into Primer :)

Well i myself and a mate sprayed smurfs final coat of paint over its body yesterday come up kinda OK for 2 people that dont do it for living even no ive sprayed all my cars before was first time with 2pac paint.

Bought some Fiberglass guards this week there being dropped off to me tomorrow so i can spray them get them bolted up so i can start putting smurf back together after i give car quick rub back and a buff to make the paint look alittle better but not to worries its a 4wd not show car :)

Also bought a Serise 2 chrome grill and some clear/crystel parkers to same some bling to it once its finished.

Just make it a 8 point cage then....
Got front legs middle hoop over head with cross brace then nother hoop behind back seats with stays down to back floor been done many times to family cars to keep kids in back seats safe aswell.

Well smurf is 70% back together atm just awaiting warmer weather so i can spray the front fiberglass guards i bought and get them bolted up then ill give car light rub and buff to get the dust n bugs out of paint due to spraying in a dusty shed.


Hole it sits with 5inch lift on 33s use to keep it low but gone for bigger lift now for change.

Well its been long time since ive posted here been way to busy with work but ive earned my self 8 days off to work on smurfo


so over last 2 days ive sanded car back n gave it cut n polish to sorta fix the paint up looks like sh!t but see how it looks in the sun light after all its 4wd not show pony instal all new door locks n ignition barrel new steering column and bolted up GU steering box.

Aswell as buying some goodies

Well we finally got some good weather here for spraying so i sprayed up last stuff to the car

Witch was 2 gaurds and the Window Grill under front windscreen now there done ill bolt them up over weekend finish bolted up rest of the stuff i can do then im going to book it into John at Biders4wd for seats mounted and fresh tune and anything else he may find.

Got the fiberglass mounted up witch now makes its body work completed aswell as it stands on all 4 wheels again now.


All thates left is fit couple of trims and stuff on inside and its finished
Bar work will be resprayed once the warm weather comes back again.

Well today i finished everyone on smurf that i was doing so its 90% finished now

Inside of car all back together
Outside all done but bar work as im spraying barwork up atm should be all done n bolted up by tuesday as i go back to work on Wednesday

As ive said above last couple things that need doing are getting done by biders prob in new year as he flat out atm.

Well as im over black bar work i choose to go Silver and it matches the blue nicely.

Aswell as i mounted the passenger site to GQ Rails and i sit bloody high in it got 30mm from top of my head n the roof so thinking i might have to make rails for my side so it sits alittle lower down.

Well i straighten and repaired my front bar last night witch was only straighting the front of bar where winch bolted to and weld up a crack on bottom witch was where the main impact was.


Then resprayed it to match rest of my bar work.

Well got car back from Biders and to say it short words was told my loom was fu**ed and car wouldn't run so he hot wired it.

So got car home and pulled my dash out and removed my Car Alarm and every wirer that was running to inside car. Ended up repairing coil side of loom with 2nd hand loom i got and reconnected power wire off ignition barrel

So in other words my car is Stock inside with a fresh Dash so no CAR PC or UHF no nothing will wire all that after my car has gone into somewhere for a Tune up. But smurf is running and Driving took its for its first road drive in 6 months today and loved it happy to have my car back :D

Well Smurfo made its first trip out to bush today since June this year and it went awesome its like new car with all new lift bushes seats ect ect :P

Well picked up smurfo from 4b Fabrications tonight and wow very happy with car they do awesome wrok there.


So the following was done.

Full engine tune up
Fit Front locker
Lower/Maker Custom seat mounts seats now sit 40mm lower
And install snorkel though bonnet.

Aswell as the lights i posted above the 7Inch HID lights dont fit on my bar due to Himount being in the way as i hang my lights upside down.
So sold my lights with inn 2mins a mate and going to buy smaller ones like 4inch

Well haven't updated in awhile.

I went away for Australia Day for 4 days was having a mint trip till my car come up with a Problem and had no idea on what it was.
Smurf had lost 80% of its power and didn't no why so i babied smurf home and then Wednesday i babied it back out to the bush to do a 4wd Action DVD and Photo Shoot should be in there 4wd Action Customs Mag in next 4 months.


Once that was done i took smurf to a 4b shop and got it looked at turned out there was 2 screws down dizzy chamber that got caught in timing chain and smashed some teeth of the timing sprocket.
Car back now and runs better then it has ever run since the hole time of my owning it.

Well heading off to SA tomorrow for 13days to play on the beaches n dunes up the Coast from Robe to Beach port and beyond

Well here's a update on my coastal drive up Beach Port to Robe and beyond.
Left Friday night getting us to Robe around 8am Saturday morning at our camp site so we set up and had a quick relax n a snooze due to the 7hr straight drive we just did.

Then we went for quick play on the beach with some swimming then back to camp Sunday was hole day of site seeing an relaxing n swimming again.
Then Monday we started our trip down the coast from Beach Port taking on some awesome beach driving and some fantastic scenery.

Till i decided to fly smurf over a sand dune a little bit to fast n landing head onto into another sand dune bending my steering column and smashing my panard bushes to bits.. Car was still drive able just had notch steering and death wobbles on open highway.

Once back at camp he chilled down with some beers watching the sunset and making the decision to head home Tuesday as my car was no longer able to drive the beaches and dunes.

Even know i had to cut the trip early we still all saw some awesome sites and drove along some awesome coastal beaches and recovering a bloke from W.A that was wheeling the sandy beaches on his own with wrong tyre pressure that lead him bogged to his diffs and wasn't going anywhere he was very thankful that we had come along as he had no idea how he was going to get out other wise.

Bought to new gauges for me truck as old was were stuffed since rebuild also thought i put them in where the clock and cigarette lighter plug are as Clock never worked and dont need cigarette light plug as i dont smoke and keeps the gauges off the top of the dash were all the hectic people put them lol.

Left is old pressure right is Temp both have warning sounds n lifts if Pressure drops below 10psi and temp gets over 100 degree's

Well on my last trip out I spun a front drives axle bald in side my CV witch was odd n strange never seen this before.
all fixed none with some freebies from my old mans work :D

Well over last week ive been giving the front end a make over.

Got bored with my front tube bar so bought my self a On Track 4x4 bar witch was suited to a 76mm longer hi mount drum.

After alittle bit of looking around I was able to swam my standard drum for a plus 76mm longer one.

Well after my little accident last year i stuffed my light bar n light bar rack.

So i finally got off my ass and took my light bar back to shop as it still under warranty and got it fixed they replaced the internals from 3w cree globes to 5w cree globes with was nice of them and i didn't have to pay any extra. :D

So over weekend as i got my light bar back Thursday i picked up a cheap rhino rack and modded it to take my light bar on it.

So i finally have lots of awesome light again. BRING ON NIGHT RUNS IN THE SNOW.

I bought a iPad 4 couple months ago with plans to use it for my GPS for when out 4wdriving.

So finally got around to ordering a Ram Mount off ebay to hold it and it finally come in the mail.
So mount it up and this is how my iPad sits in my car cant wait to test the Hema map app this weekend away.

Well had little spare time on my hands this weekend so took a quick day trip out to Walhalla to hit up some tracks.
Over all was mint day out only did 3 tracks die getting stuck on a track having to wait for 7 cars to winch there way past a hard part of a track we were going down witch sucked.

Nah i don't really but can explain it kinda

Jerry holder has 4mm thick angle iron welded ob bottom with bolts though it with head welded to angle so they don't spin and top has 2 bits of 25x25 square tube
welded to it a one flat and one on a angle to match top of the door with bolts put on the same as bottom

Then i drilled four matching holes on the door then place holder on door and on inside i have 2 bits of plate 4mm plate that have match holes that slides over bolts on the inside witch clamps
it to the door no movement in the jerry holder at all ive had one of on my old shorty and have made 3 mates the same thing all going strong.

Tamboritha rd yeah just follow it snow starts at about thr 1200mt mark on the road and about 1400mt up there camp site loaded with snow where kids can play and stuff.

Make sure you follow it right down to the pinnincals even is clouds low like they were when i was there still awesome up there to see it with snow on it.


There's also snow on Mt Selma aswell

Motor run normal temp not much colder really car works so hard in the snow it stays hot

Just bought a 2nd hand Tigers11 Roof n Awning for a awesome price
The 42inch led light bar that was on it was removed and sold i'm mount a new 50inch led light bar to roof rack once it arrives


Also got a 150liter Petrol tank install last week in week or so im getting a 70lt sub installed ready for next years Fraser Island trip

Well i suspected my front diff being bent for awhile now but could never tell as its not huge bend.
But since bolting up my new TTC claws there wearing heavily on inside of tyre.

So picked up a new 2nd hand diff for 50 bucks and a DIY Bracing kit made by Racebred4wd and gave it a shot welding it my self with never been taught how to weld just taught my self the basics.

Well we spent yet another weekend out the bush up Mt Selma n surrounds there was no snow what so ever on Mt Selma n Mt Usefull so we headed back to camp
cooked up some dinner and all voted that we do a night mission up to Mt Skene where snow was found witch was meter deep or more in places was mint.

Black guards are meant to be blue just haven't got time to remove them n spray them up yet lol

Well last 2 months my had my 2 front guards in black primer as i sold the Fiberglass ones n bought normal steal ones again.

Finally the weather has been good enough to finally spray them blue they come up ok apart from couple runs where my spray gun splatted on me ill sand them out n buff the shine back into guards.

So what's the story behind the vice grips and busted brake piston??

Yeah start of ever year i spend 7 to 10 days up in the VHC its best way to start the new year.

And yeah O ring seal inside Piston on the brake calliper is no more so was loosing all brake fluid inless then 10ks of driving so clamped
that line nice n tight n didn't loose any fluid after that did 7 days in the bush with it like that

Well over last 2 months ive been busy pulling down my old shed as my 4b did not fit in it at all to have this new shiny one put up.

Its 7.5mts long 8.5mts wide 3.mts high in center of shed n door is 2.8mts my mav now fits in there like a dream cant wait to have power n new concrete layed down.

Drive a GU 4.5 petty then drive a 105 Series cruiser straight after it and you soon see why a 100 is better..
Ive been a passenger in GU to Qld was shitest trip ever 2 months later i went to N.T as passenger in 100 n was like sitting on a couch watching tv so comfy



And would love a 1hdt 100 but pricing be little out of my reach but never know

I agree 4.5 GU's not the best 4.2 turbo diesel on the other hand!!!! Ive had 100 series and IMHO a GU is a much better option but you choose what you want and enjoy it, better a cruiser than a great wall I say. Good luck and enjoy your new truck.

Well been doing a little bit of rearranging in the back of my 4b as in changing the set up.

I started out with dual draws in the back with Fridge mounted beside drives side back door n side cupboards ect ect.


Change the set up to Fridge being mounted a fridge slide made by me I used 225kg lockable draw runners and mounted a single draw beside it.

Now in the middle ive mounted twin 100amp deep cycle batterys to runn fridge n lights in car.
On left or car behind passenger sit ive mounted a 6olt water tank witch will be pumped up to a 4lt/m 12v water pump and moved my air tank for lockers beside the fridge.

rest of the space will have a false made around it with built in cupboards to hold some more shit i care in car.

Why i was at it i moved my amp witch was attached to back of the roll cage to down beside drives passenger door n mounted my sub up on top
of the water tank so its tanking up no extra room what so ever.

That's a fantastic battery powered tool I have called a Stud Finder locating the screw heads be very easy if i wanted to and also Carpete only stapled down so also easy to pull


But as said its not coming out anytime soon

If ya remove the globe cover you can gain 30+% more light.
focus is still good, possibly better even.
unscrew whilst hanging on with pointy nose pliers and the crush to pull back thought hole.
so long as globe tip is painted type ya should be ok rd worthy.

Well just spent 4 days up in Dargo on a forum trip we where lucky we had awesome weather for most of the trip only rained once n that was Saturday night but didn't last long.

Well after i had to go rescue a mate that thought he go play on his own at night i was not happy not being able to see backwards as the lights on my jerry holder no longer worked so there not removed all together.

And 2 days ago i bought a 25inch LED light bar to mount off back of my Roof Rack hard wired so it can be used for anything that needs light facing backwards.

And the last trip i did to Dargo with the forum showed me insight to not being able to see around Hair Pin turns at night time
so mounted 2 2inch LED lights on corners under my 42inch Light bar.

Window tint makes it hard to see out the back doesn't it... I need a small single row light bar for reversing in the dark.
I've got a couple of little LED floods too that I will put on the front to see around hairpins like you have.

Yeah tint makes its hard that's for sure and since i had no reverse lights what so ever as my 2 little ones i had on jerry holder where dead made it hard
reversing at night on tracks as wide as my car lol.

And hairpin turns sucked just as much i couldn't see around them didn't no how sharp to turn the corner ect ect wont have this problem now the corner lights be wired into same loom so light bar n corner lights come on at same time.

Well some new stuff happening with my Smurfo.

Smurf no longer going to be a TB42 Carby :)
Its getting converted to a TD42t Turbo spec with a GT2860 himount roller bearing turbo mounted on it.
Engine was fully rebuilt mmm about 12 months ago as only done about 7000ks since rebuild

Bought the hole car as a roller for $6000 :D

Well decided to get in one last Snow trip for this year and one last trip in the mighty TB42

Went up to Mt Selma Thursday night n come home Sunday so over all spent 3 days up in the Snow and what snow we got as many of you know Victoria got blasted with a huge cold front giving me epic snow to drive in.

Got a little Damage report i had lost a bolt out of my Himount n not knowing this i was winching on a little angle and winch twisted n fully snapped out of its mounts.
will need a new lower case and it be all good again.
