Hey fellas, thought I'd start a new thread regarding crank/winch batteries for my RB30 GQ patrol.
At the moment I am running a 650cca battery and recently it's started showing signs that it is on its way out.
I have a 1200lb winch wired to the crank battery and would like to replace it with something decent, but not over the top.

What battery would you recommend, should I look for one with the most CCA due to the winch?

Fit the biggest you can. Going by the CCA on your current battery it looks to be a 12 plate battery. If you can fit a 15 plate battery in, they are longer, you will get circa 950CCA. You may need to do some mods to the tray to fit a larger battery in though.

The problem is that I've just rebuilt the engine and had an electrical gremlin and there was LOTS of cranking her over trying to diagnose the issue between it going on the charger. I think it may have just had too much of a beating, it looks to be. Couple years old anyway.
Are all yellow tops the same CCA?
That seems like a good price as well, I heard they were very pricey.
