i am at an end trying to find if a series 4 rear bumper will fit a series 8,they look the same,but does anyone know if it will bolt straight on

Series 4 onwards are the same mate. As far as I know the GU chassis had not changed since 1998. Just the body.

GU 7 fits a GU4 so shouldn’t see why not. (I know this for a fact dammit)

Yes mate they are. Even the white paint is close. You have to look really close to see the difference on mine. The metal frame that the cover bolts onto is also interchangeable, bolt holes and everything exact line up. The only difference in mine is the old one weighed more due to the bog and filler in it.
