Hi All ,
My 2012 GU 3.0 Ute (extelstra) is still having electrical issues and continues to lose power and surge when ever it wants and runs fine the rest of the time.
Following the fault codes so far I have replaced the maf sensor , the main throttle body , the throttle position switch at the pedal .
This morning I lost my driving lights and the instrument / dash illuminating lights , the actual specific lights for the seat belt , high beam etc still work just the dash and centre console are black
Any ideas ??? , thinking maybe an earth problem ???
Seems to be a new drama every week
Thanks

i know telstra cars have the headlights always on, i think it was a accessory by nissan fitted new, i have seen issues with this system that cause all sorts of faults. could be worth looking around that.
ussually they fitted them near the brake master cylinder

Would not hurt running a few extra earth straps, body to chassis,
motor to body, motor to chassis, firewall to chassis.

Hi All,
Mine does not have the lights on feature. I did find the problem in the light harness , I have also started pulling out all the useless wiring looms and associated crap.
Wonder if the mob that wires these utes up has a wiring diagram available ??
Still have the surge problem to sort out , thinking it may be sucking air into the fuel system somewhere...
No fault codes are present atm.
Good idea with the earth straps, will get it done this week aswell
thanks

I've seen that a few times before. Normally in driving light setups. Those little fuse holders just don't seem to do the job for constant high(relatively) current.
If it were me I'd change it out for one of those auto reset breaker/fuse jobbies with the 2 poles/nuts on top.

yeah I just rewired the whole lot with larger wire and the correct fuses, it was a mess under the flash looking conduit wrap, it looked like the apprentice tried wiring it Monday morning after a weekend on the pipe.....
I think this vehicle was originally yellow....
