Hi everyone tis Kev here again, finally finished stripping the motor down, just have to pull it out tom once we pick the engine hoist up. We unfortunately had to go the rebuild choice as the new engine "fell through". Oh well what do you do when the head cracks between cylinders #5 & 6. Will post some photos as soon as I have the proper chance to do so. Have also installed an after market stereo, speakers, a cb and some new indicators on my bumper as the old ones were all coroded and no longer worked. I also have a turbo timer to install but I am trying to find an ignition wiring diagram to wire it in. Hopefully in the not too distant future there will also be a EGT and Boost gauge going in as well as a suspention upgrade along with some new tyres as the ones on there are looking a bit like a set of drift tyres at the end of the day. thats only once the bank accout/misses has recovered from the near $3000.00 engine rebuild. :icon_bonk:

This whole loading pics on is one heck of a mision!!! Will try and load them through photo bucket on the weekend when I am not so tiered and easily frustrated. I (Kev) am actually Brook's son I live in Butler (north of joondalup) and Dad (Brooks) lives in Kinross. Yeh Dad and I are rebuilding the motor up at there place as they have the room and tools. When the head went I dicided to replace all the internals while it was all open as it has done nearly 300 000 km's. Just hoping the gearbox holds out and lives up to the die hard patrol drive line. I hope no one has a prob that we both use the same account.

No problems using the one account on here, maybe you and your Dad could put your name at the bottom of each post (like I do) so we know who wrote it.

You can load photo's straight from your computer to the forum if you want, let me know if you want some advice on how to do it.

What do you drive Kev?

Thanks fella's good idea bout the names will do that from now on, I have tried to load photos straight from the computor but it keeps telling me that it is an invalid file or it is to big, could it be because the photos are originally taken on a phone and are now on an external hard drive???

Kev

I save my pics as JPEG files and resize them to 640x480 (usually), no problems loading them that way. If your pics are not in JPEG format there is a way to change them.

Also where would I find the online manual as I need to find a wiring diagram for the ignition as well as the firing order and torque ratio's for when I start putting the motor back together.

We have manuals right here on the forum, this should be the one you want; http://www.nissanpatrol.com.au/forums/showthread.php?4202-Nissan-Patrol-GU-Y61-service-manual-INC-Supplement-I-II-III-IV-V-VI-VII-amp-VIII
