89 Mav with 2” suspension lift, I’m looking at putting BFG KM2 33s on, but was wanting to hear others experience of running the wide 12.5’s as opposed to 10.5s on a 15” rim.
The car is mostly used for bush cruising now, all the fun stuff but not overly extreme, only moderate black top use towing the boat occasionally.

I prefer the 12.5 for more traction but you do use a bit more fuel for the luxury.
Sounds like that might not be a big concern for you.

I bought the 33 x 10.5R 15 because they sat inside the guard flares, were the same width as the factory originals, and give me greater ground pressure than the 12.5" wide tyre. I only use mine in Vic high country though. Still needed to do a minor mod to the factory mudflaps to stop tyre scrub on close to full lock.

Have you thought about getting 32/11.5 ?
I'm getting that size when my current 31s wear out

I had the Wrangler MTR in 32 x 11.5, great tyre but limited in choice when you destroy one. Still have one here, couldnt sell it even for $50 and it was 200klm old, new $320. I went to 33" and better selection I reckon.

I run 33 10.5 15's... works fine been through sand mud rocks etc also only needed a small flare, and I didn't need to modify mud flaps with 2 inch lift.
