Hey guys, just wondering what discs people recommend for a 3ltr patrol? Need to buy new ones and pads. Ive been told Bendix for pads ,but not sure on good discs for off road.

Thanks in advance

How much meat is left on your current ones? The front can be machined to a minimum 18 mm and the rear can be machined to a minimum thickness of 16 mm. It cost me $49 to get the two front discs on my Falcon machined.

Corrected brake disc thickness.

Not sure how much meat left on them. Wanted to get new ones anyway. Thinking of machining.

Just last week put DBA slotted rotors on ex Repco. Invoice is at home, will think to let you know cost of tomorrow.
Used Bendix purple stripe pads, still bedding them in but definitely an improvement to stopping power.

Finally remembered to dig out that invoice.
$203.00 per side plus "procurement recovery" (freight, you Repco wankers) of $30.00

Been told not to use slotted rotors as stones can get caught in them? Heard of that ?

Can't say I have. I need the better stopping cos I drop a 600kg camper on it.
No stones in Qld anyhow, all golden beaches.

I used dba t2 4x4 survival on the gq with Bendix hd. made a big difference but not as much as upgrading the rear to disc....
I've been through mud water sand etc never had a problem except for the salt water making the hand brake stick on (left it overnight with the h/brake on)

Correction for post #2 on the brake discs. According to the workshop manual the front can be machined to a minimum 18mm the rear to a minimum of 16mm.
