Hi there fellows, my son owned a a GQ 97 manual Patrol for about 6-7 years and had an enormous amount of fun camping and bushbashing with his mates, we/I live in the Blue Mountains.
Early last year he sold the Patrol and moved to QLD but left behind a spare gearbox he had purchased in case he managed to destroy the one in his GQ.
So the car has gone but the spare gearbox is still here. It has been covered over and looks good with no oil leaks on the cases. It shifts smoothly though the gear pattern and has a second transfer gearshift on the side so assume that is to engage 4X4.
Side not: Recently I had to repair a 5th gear problem in a manual toyota (It was slipping out of 5th)and managed to pick up a second hand box which i pulled out 5th gear, a split needle bearing and a synchro ring from. Box cost me $300. Problem fixed BUt if I had bought genuine new Toyo bits it would have cost me $750, and I was told the bits were in Japan and I would have to wait for them to be shipped.
So who wants a spare 5sp manual GQ 97 box. Best offer.
