Non-starting and all lights work except reverse

I have a 1988 Nissan safari , I had the engine running and the hood was up and I accidentally dropped a wrench and it look like it hit the starter or something and then the engine just turned off , I turn the key back on but nothing happened all the lights work except for the reverse lights not sure what happened , i’m hoping it’s a fuse and I’m sorry I’m new here and new to the Safari so curious on where the fuse box for this would be i’m guessing the fuse goes to the starter in the back up lights , thanks for any help

Find your fusible link, it might be blown. Its a cluster of heavy wires near the start battery, white cables from memory. You may have shorted out the terminals on the starter and blown it. Give the wires a firm tug as they may be sitting there blown and appear ok.

What exactly is the fusible link and which one is the start battery ,I apologize for not knowing I’ve only had this vehicle for two days

So do I replaced a fuse or the white wires and where would I find this fuse, are these a common fuse that I can get for May auto store

Fusible links in 245 and 245, also check for blown relays in black compartment shown in 247. Download the manual, and follow the wiring diagram. The links are not like an ordinary fuse, so you may need to source from an auto elc or Nissan direct if thats the problem. I think its the cable on the left side of the two shown in 246

Did you look at the starter motor? Has the spanner knocked connector off the solenoid?

Sounds like fusible as engine actually stopped, would have killed power to the fuel solenoid I am guessing.
