Could someone tell me the thread size for the bolts that hold the spare wheel on the carrier on a GU, mine didn’t have a spare when I got it or the bolts so I need to chase some

Try a wreckers. I've sourced loads of small incidental parts like that for my GU at a couple of different wreckers.
