GU Patrol stopping

I have a 2007 GU turbo diesel Patrol that has recently developed an issue. When driving under normal conditions it won't go over 3000 rpm without breaking down ie the engine just stops it will start again straightaway. It happens more when going up in gears rather than down and is far worse when towing. We have cleaned the MAF sensor but not sure what else to try before spending a fortune at the mechanics.

Have you had it scanned for any codes? Go to Supercheap if you havent got a scanner they will put their gadget on the car for a small fee.

It could be a number of things. From pump issue to, rail relief valve (If it is a CRD).
