Part prices

Hi guys,
Something I've noticed with the GQ (in my 3 weeks of ownership) is the price for parts is really high.
For example, I've also got a little Zook Sierra of the same year 1990, and I can buy 2x swivel hub rebuild kits for almost half the price it costs for a single wheel kit for the GQ.
They're both popular Japanese 4x4's that've done well in Australia, so I'm curious why the cost differences are so significant? Is it because of the difference in load and power between the two?

I don't mean this to come across as a whing, I've just only owned 2 4wd's so I'm pretty green and eager to learn.

I would say its size difference between parts, number of parts and lastly the seller will pitch the price point where he knows he will a consistent demand, which has nothing to do with what they cost, more with what he can get for the parts.

that aside ive worked at suzuki dealership and nissan and i also fount suzuki to be cheaper on the genuine parts as well.

Which is why nearly everything, not just car parts, tend to cost $1.99 or $59.99 or $999.00. I used to buy my stock and apply a percentage mark up and sell at that price. Now all stock costs me a random price, often ending in "99" depending on how many are sold a week or year or whatever. I have to markup each item differently depending on what I was charged, what the freight was which will depend on where the supplier got them, and even what a similar item is listed for on line. for fast moving low priced items you are lucky to mak a cent or two let alone a percentage markup.

That’s why the Milk is deep in the Supermarket at the far end. They make nothing on the milk but make their coin of the rest of the baskets you grab while walking to the milk.
