An employee at my work is about to buy his retirement caravan and asked if I could tow it back from Ballarat for him as he also just bought a Jeep but it's not ready for a couple of months.
My van fully loaded is about 2 tonne with everything inside but this van is 2.5 tare.
Getting up there for a GQ tow!
Thoughts on towing at the max level for a GQ?
There's also conflicting info on the GQ between 2.5 and 2.8 max which is confusing which one is correct?

... don't have to worry about underbody rust on a Jeep
... do have to paint your driveway "sump oil black" or buy a 200 litre drum of degreaser and a new Gurni each year

It is all down hill from Ballarat Andy so your old clunker should be able to handle it.

a gq will pull 2.5t easily, used to tow 2 ton daily on mine which could blow out to over 3t easily with a good load of timber onboard

For sure Bill mate, they will do without a doubt I agree. In fact the Q in question is tamed back to around 150rwkw @ a lazy low down 800NM :-)
It’s just Mr Plod and insurance of another’s trailer that becomes scary on our somewhat suburban highways these days!
