I think the OP means which bit of the plug do you squeeze to get it to disengage from the socket... been so long now since I've done one that I forget and windows 10 makes looking it up in the manual a PIA

Yes I found the manual not much good on windows 10 !! glad someone else is having a problem .
I thought I was doing something wrong . I wanted to download it and take it to Office works and have it Bound ( on a usb stick )

Damn it. I had mine in my hand last night and could have taken a better look for you. I didnt unplug it though i just had to take it out of its socket. I have relocated mine to the gear stick surround so i can see it rather than the stupid spot they put it in the GUIV.
If you can upload a pic or download Tapatalk to your phone and upload from there we can try and figure it out.

Most socket sections will have a metal style cup to hold it fast he plug sections will either have a screw to pull it apart like the the red section will unscrew from the black body, please avoid this style very cheap and unreliable, but either a merit style [european] or maybe a 50 amp anderson style. bullet proof imo

The heater control unit has two cables running to either side of the heater box. Plus and electrical cable plugged into it.

Yeah mine came apart real easy. spray some crc or similar on it. It will come apart. Tis all fresh in my mind as I recently did the heater core r & r, full dash out job...

so did you take the heater controls out ? Mine has a bent cable . I believe . you have to take the glove box out to remove the control through the glove box hole ! I hat the dash thing .....
