Hi all, got a 2013 Y61 wagon that has just gone through an RAC test in western Australia prior to buying (im not back in the country yet hence the test). Report is by all accounts good but a few items on the list ..
1. Cover/trim over jack is missing .. has anybody got a picture of this please so I can see exactly what it is that is missing and is it an easily obtained item?
2. Brake pads and discs are getting with 2mm of legal tolerance .. what sort of replacement costs am I looking at here for all 4 corners pads and discs?
3. Main battery is in need of replacing and second battery has corroded leads and needs replacing. vehicle has a Redarc battery control fitted which I have been told may be the problem .. opinions?

All very hard to do things long distance :-)

Welcome back soon Timbo!
The far more knowledgeable WA blokes might be able to point you in the local direction of a fairly easy decent mechanic for sure mate!

well I bit the bullet and bought the car .. batteries can be replaced .. brakes .. well can upgrade them any time .. and it's going to have a drawer system in the back anyway. Cars only done 52000 from new (built 2013 registered 2014) .. one owner (Police Commissioner) .. outside and inside is immaculate (according to my Brother in law) .. so on arrival in Perth i will be a member of the Patrol group :-)
Now ... seat covers, dash mat, floor mats, tow bar, roof racks, radio, spotlights ..... hmmm decisions decisions
OMG I cant wait to get back on a proper beach and fish ... sigh

My guess is mounted police, towed a horse float. That would explain the brake wear. Should have been serviced at correct intervals.

Well I found out that it WAS a Police Commissioner who had it. It has never had a towbar fitted at all .. only 52000 on the clock and am real happy I managed to score it. Still not back in the country yet though .. grrrrrrr
