Gu patrol Zd30di milky oil cap

Hey all last week I went to check up on my oil levels and noticed milky grime on edges of dipstick it was cold morning so started the car warmed it up went for drive came back the milkyness almost gone so I thought it was condensation then checked oil cap and milky stuff in there as well. Ended up freaking out a lil lol went n got new oil n filter replaced it all cleaned it all and been almost 7days since the service and in dipstick still got golden oil with really really small amount of white stuff BUT oil cap is back the same way quite a lot of white stuff. What's your thoughts guys?

Maybe not what you want to hear but milky oil cap can be bad juju... once coolant gets into the oil the top of the engine is where the most appears in the early stages.

Is the engine using any coolant?

Sometimes milky cap is a build up over time of entrapped condensate BUT it isn't a very good sign that it came back straight away.

I would get the cooling system tested sooner rather than later.
Water to oil is most often the gasket, water to exhaust is most often the head, not always but def majority.
Soooo, usually it is a head gasket but if it is the head the earlier you get it sorted the better

G'day mate. I service air cooled LPG engines and we get this a lot. It is usually caused by hot running in cool temperatures , and is as you think condensation. In our engines it is because the minute amounts of water in the oil, boils of at a lower temperature than oil and cools and deposites at the top of the filler. These motors have a vented filler. The ZD30Di which I have as well do tend to breath heavy and it is probably the same issue I would think. As long as the deposite is not in the oil itself, I would not be too worried. It might be worth checking your catch can and/or breather bypass hose for free flow of fumes. I presume the engine is not overheating at all?

No overheating at all car runs smooth no difference at all and nothing in oil filter. And only reason I’m topping up coolant is becaus I have an leak in overflow bottle

Sweet... If thats the case I would replace the bottle, get a coolant test and if that came back clear then drive it like ya stole it

This happens very commonly in winter when you do short trips too.
The oil cap gets a milky clump or goo. looks like vaseline.
