Ceiling/headliner cleaning?

Hi,

Living in Central Australia the headliner on my GU VII (ST) has developed a red tinge (dust). What's the best way of giving it a good clean? How fragile is it?

It looks like a liner stuck directly to a backing with no padding in between. Does it delaminate easily? Could I use a carpet cleaner with upholstery attachment on it? Or would it be better to try a more gentle method?

I had mine cleaned (I think they used a steam cleaner) when I bought the Patrol and the glue holding the material to the backing gave way. The entire roof lining had to be replaced.

If you do it - go easy and try a small bit first.
