View Full Version : Odometer showing blank

Hi All,

Recently bought a 2004 patrol and am new to the site (hopefully doing this right). Anyway, it was running fine untill earlier today the tail lights and dash lights would not turn on.
Checked the fuses and found that the 10amp number 15 'tail light' fuse had blown.
Swapped it with a spare which also blew.

Started looking for a short and found a wire in the dash that was leading to the head unit had the end exposed and was touching the frame.
Taped it up and replaced the fuse. All the lights are working now (tail and dash) but the odometer display will no longer show anything and displays blank. (Even without the dash lights on it will show nothing).

Has anyone had this issue before or does anyone know of a cause or fix for the problem?

Cheers, Connan

Unhook the battery for a few minutes and reconnect. Usually it comes good. Mine does it about once a week.
Some say its from dry solder joints in the dash cluster, some from a short somewhere. Some have had issues after gas installs, some havent.

Tired the battery trick, still no luck.
Thinking it may be a possible issue with the dash cluster.
