Especially so when "Waltzing Matilda" is the Marching Song of the U.S. 1st Marine Division (officially adopted after Guadalcanal and been so ever since).
When that band plays Waltzing Matilda it is with almost 75 years of respect behind it and God help anyone who dishonours it.
Made me do a double take when I heard them singing it out on the piss one night in S.E. Asia after an Exercise but, man, do you feel good to be an Aussie when you find out why.
