Have 00 GUII with reco motor from North Vic engines, also reco turbo from Denco and Reco fuel pump, engine done less than 30 thou km and using around 2 to 2.5l of oil per 1000k trip, catch can fitted and fills with about 500mils per 1000km.
Anyone else had issues with engines from this mob, as I feel I am being d**ed around an am seriously questioning their honesty/reliability.

Castrol 10/40 mineral as recomended, also had services done in accordance with their recomendations by mechanic. North Vic wants the car/engine there and coming up with excuses as to why it wouldn't be under warranty eg low oil etc... it's a risk cause I just don't have the $6k they quoting me to replace the engine if they not under under warranty.
Bloody thing has cost me over $20k so far

Yep some of these reco crowds are scumbags to be sure but which one is good is a lottery it seems ,maybe a visit to Vcat or consumer affairs might be in order .
Son had a similar thing from a North Victorian engine reco mob but I doubt we're talking about the same company .

Would not be suprised if it were the same, moved to Cobram, calling themselves NorthVic Engines, the guy I been dealing with is real smarmy talks down to you, offered me a new engine if needed at a fantastic price 20% off.. and wasn't prepared to let my qualified mechanic diagnose it, had to go back to them..
