Hi there. Im new to this site but its already helped me out alittle 💪. Thanks.

Ive got a gu rd28 with blown head which is rebuilt now but the cooling side of is scaring me. Due to the fact that the other owner never hooked up the expanstion tank.. :@

And now im left with all these hoses and scared its not circulating correctly.

That brass tee in the photo went to the nipple in the top of the radiator.

One of the pipes off the oil cooler goes into the block (if you cant see it in the pic)

Theres 2 pipes just free balling atm they go to the oil cooler.

The rest of them scare me. Maybe its the reason the head was cooked.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Damn mate.
This is one of the scariest things I've ever seen.
IMHO the best way is to back the system to the factory condition.

It sure is a scary look down there..

Going off a few pictures ive seen the oil cooler plumbs back into the head.. not into the heater line.

And i think.. dont hold me to it but from the expanstion tank it connects to the end of that brass tee?

Factory set up is all i want with the cooling side

Thats a mess for sure. I'd be removing all those brass fittings and starting from scratch. Time to get creative with google images I reckon and search for pics...

If I knew how to upload a pdf I have a page from the downloadable manual, available here, that shows coolant flow direction.

Buy the way, on your photo, I can't see the heater's pipes from the firewall. Do you have it?
The expansion tank should be connected to the radiator a bit lower than a cap.

Wine marker thanks 👍its helping out abit more..
The only problem is im pretty sure thats the gq rd28 tho.

Should be the same layout or close to.

My radiator has got normal top and bottom pipes and also an 13mm or there abouts.
Ive seen just by looking at pictures from the top of the radiator 13mm pipe goes to top of expansion tank. And from the bottom of the tank it tees into the engine.. somewhere .

I'll try to find someone on GU with rd and make a photo.
Some photo of my pipes, but I'm not sure it will help
